Joshua McManus has always been captivated by digital media and the strategic power of digital marketing. From video and photography to graphic design and animation, he has a knack for exploring creative software and bringing compelling advertising concepts to life. His journey started in middle school, recording and editing the daily morning announcements, and has since evolved into a versatile multimedia skill set. With experience ranging from studio and field camera work, including drone operation, to video and audio editing, as well as 2D and 3D design, Joshua loves combining his technical talents to create inventive, goal-oriented video productions.
Currently completing his degree in Communication with concentrations in Media Arts and Digital Media Marketing at Houghton University, Joshua is also a founding member of the Student Independent Designer Association. His on-campus involvement extends to the Audio/Visual office, where he has gained hands-on experience managing live video streams, operating soundboards for live events, and coordinating equipment rentals for students and faculty.
Throughout his academic career, Joshua has refined his skills across multiple disciplines, building a diverse portfolio of hands-on work. Notably, he served as the sole video editor for a several-month-long educational video production, where he also actively assisted with shooting the main and b-roll footage. Bridging his creative work with his marketing expertise, he developed a comprehensive mock advertising campaign for the brand Bloom and conducted an in-depth customer journey analysis focused on the retro video game market. His portfolio also highlights his technical artistry, featuring a detailed isometric room built from scratch using Autodesk Maya and a series of professional portraiture. Post-graduation, Joshua plans to leverage this blend of media production and marketing strategy to pursue a career as a creative in the advertising industry or as a Multimedia Specialist.
